Ph.D., English,Auburn University

M.A., English, Valdosta State College

B.A., English, Shorter College

Dr. Kelley Ceccato has been teaching English in one form or another since the fall of 1994, and she has been a part of Life University’s faculty since 2009, first as an adjunct instructor and then as an Associate Professor. She has taught Composition, Literature, Creative Writing, Academic Strategies, and Public Speaking, and she takes both pleasure and pride in helping students discover both their own unique voices as writers and communicators and the various ways they can connect with the themes and characters in the literature they read. “One of my favorite memories is of a student coming to me after taking my ENG 102 class,” she says, “and telling me, ‘I learned about myself in your class. I learned I was Minnie Wright (from Susan Glaspell’s Trifles) and I was once married to Iago (from Shakespeare’s Othello).”

Dr. Ceccato lives in Woodstock, GA with her husband and their sweet, spoiled cats. She is also an actress and playwright in the Atlanta Radio Theatre Company (www.artc.org); her fantasy novels Atterwald and Nightmare Lullaby are available to check out at Life University’s library.
