Ph.D. Candidate, Education Leadership in Higher Education, Bradley University
My name is Henry Hammond, and I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Life University. I have been happily employed with the Life family for more than twenty-one (21) years which has allowed me to serve in many faculty and administrative roles.
I am currently completing my doctoral studies in education leadership with emphasis on higher education at Bradley University.
I am an avid tennis player and coach. I have coached several D1 and professional tennis players, some who are currently competing on the ATP and WTA tour. In addition, I have coached middle and high school boys and girls track and field athletes where I have won many awards and championships.
My research interest centers around empowerment and leadership. I would like to establish an active collaboration with community organizations and schools that are adamant about empowering youths to be leaders or entrepreneurs, which is my additional interest.
I would like to create a non-profit organization, similar to a second-chance program, that will allow previously incarcerated men and women of color to seek a college degree and gain employment. Finally, to create a non-profit organization that will work closely with high school counselors in a drop-out prevention program in an effort to retain African American male in high school students.
Student success is my passion!
