Marie A. Powell is a full-time assistant professor at Life University in the College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies – Liberal Studies: Business Program. She created two courses over the past twelve years that are actively sought out by students in the business program and students of other degree programs: Entrepreneur and Social Change and Entrepreneur and Social Media. In addition, she is an instructor of business at Arrendale Women's Prison in Alto, Georgia, through the Life University Chillon Project. Finally, Professor Powell has represented Life University through workshops at The Teacher's Professional Conference in Asheville, N.C., and Austin, Texas.
Professor Powell is a marketing and business consultant to Boys2Men Home & Youth Sanctuary, Inc. – a 501c3 non-profit organization that supports young men ages 14-24. She is also a board member for HYer Dynamics Health Discoveries, a non-profit organization focusing on seniors pursuing health and wellness through yoga. Additionally, Professor Powell consults small to mid-size businesses, concentrating on traditional and non-traditional (social media) marketing, with an additional focus on the "baby boomer" target segment. Marie has been a speaker for women's organizations in Chicago, Ill., and Atlanta, GA. With her keynote topic, "How to Monetize Your Knowledge." In August 2019, she presented a marketing workshop for 75 small business owners in Nairobi, Kenya. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a registered Yoga RYT-200 hour instructor, and is very active in her community.
