BIOGRAPHY
Gustavo is an insightful, persevering, and encouraging assistant professor who loves to help future healthcare professionals grow, learn, and achieve elevated levels of proficiency in the use of exercise as medicine.
Gustavo is a firm believer in using one’s God given talents, abilities, and experiences for the benefit of others. His willingness to serve others comes as a response to the grace, mercy, and love he has experienced in own life. It is his conviction that discipline, not desire, is the true source to living one’s destiny. To love, to give, to do, and to serve out of the abundance found in one’s heart is a grateful response to the goodness we experience every day.
Gustavo began his professional career in 2003 and throughout the years he has worked in the fields of cardiac rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, brain injury and other neurological injuries, as well as strength and conditioning for individuals with physical disabilities. It was through his work with paralympic athletes that he discovered the purpose and impact of exercise as medicine.
