Carl T. Amodio, A.A., B.A., D.C., DIBAK is an adjunct faculty member with Chiropractic Sciences. Dr. Amodio began teaching “Introduction to Applied Kinesiology” in 2006 due to the prompting of a very dear friend, patient, chiropractor and colleague- the late Dr. William Harris. Dr. Harris would come to see Dr. Amodio every week for his “AK visit” and wondered why Applied Kinesiology was not being taught at Life University. Although Dr. Amodio had a full-time practice, he was encouraged by Dr. Harris to begin a course in Applied Kinesiology to help bring these techniques to the chiropractic students. Dr. Harris benefited greatly from the work and was aware of Dr. George Goodheart’s work in founding the principles of Applied Kinesiology. Consequently, in 2006 Dr. Amodio formulated the course with the assistance of Walter H. Schmitt, D.C., DIBAK, DABCN.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Amodio practices in Roswell, is currently writing a book, and regularly contributes articles to various publications. He also lectures in the community and has developed a mobile app called “Relaxation Optimizer” that is a free download for apple and android devices designed to relax the body in 5 minutes or less using quantum physics. He incorporates Qi Gong healing techniques for his patients and holds his black belt in Hapkido. He is a veteran of the United States Marines and is currently on a short list of doctors that are uniquely qualified to assist veterans with PTSD using Applied Kinesiology and Neuro Emotional Technique. He is also the faculty advisor for both the Applied Kinesiology club on campus which he began in 2006 and also the NET club on campus which he helped form last year. Dr. Amodio has attained proficiency in Applied Kinesiology and in 2011 achieved his board certification and diplomate status. Currently, he is the only chiropractor in the state of Georgia that is a diplomate in Applied Kinesiology.
Dr. Amodio currently resides in Marietta with his wife and three children. He is a parishioner at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Kennesaw and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoys volunteering at church and spending time with his family.
