Move Out

Mid-Year Move-Out

For student who are required to move-out during the middle of a quarter for any reason (i.e. withdrawal, conduct, personal reasons, etc.), they should follow the instructions below:

  • Submit a housing cancellation form here.
  • Contact the office of Housing and Residence Life at housing@life.edu or 770.419.5554 to inform our office that you will be vacating and schedule a checkout time with a team member.
  • Removal all personal belongings and trash.
  • Clean your room and arrange furniture back to its original position.
  • Once completely moved out and cleaned, complete the checkout walkthrough with a Housing and Residence Life team member before leaving the building. Once the walkthrough has been completed, you may be charged damage fines and your keys (if applicable) will be collected and your building/room access will be deactivated.

End of Quarter Move-Out

  • If you are not graduating, you will be required to move-out by 12:00pm on Friday the day of graduation.
  • If you are graduating, you will be required to move-out by 12:00pm on Friday the day of graduation.
  • Graduates have the ability to request a late move out by contacting the their Residence Life Hall Advisor at housing@life.edu. If approved, you will be required to move-out by 12:00pm on Saturday the day after graduation.
  • Students who are moving out at the end of the quarter are required to sign up for a check-out walkthrough. Students who do not sign up for a check-out walkthrough will be held responsible for an improper check-out fee.
  • To check-out properly, students should complete the items listed below:
  • Clean your room and arrange furniture back to its original position.
  • Remove all personal belongings and trash.
  • Return your keys (if applicable) to the Housing and Residence Life team member during your check-out walkthrough.
  • Mail Services: Students are responsible for contacting creditors when they vacate a room to provide an updated mailing address. Housing and Residence Life will not forward mail to off-campus locations.

The below Housing Damage Charge List applies to The Commons and Life’s Village Retreat. All listed charge types reflect a “per person” charge, as split charges are not applicable in student rooms.
